Meet Women United Member Rowena Pullan

When Rowena joined Women United over 15 years ago, she found herself involved with a powerful sisterhood dedicated to enacting meaningful change. When she meets with other members at events like our annual Rise and Shine fundraising luncheon, she is inspired by the energy and excitement dedicated to helping households in poverty and ALICE.

Her dream for Women United? That the ALICE movement spreads to all 50 states, helping to raise awareness of the various ways we can help families living paycheck to paycheck. Currently, we partner with 31 states plus D.C., and are growing.

When women unite in purpose, we create meaningful change. Women United hosts engaging events throughout the year, offering unique volunteer and networking opportunities with the ultimate goal of helping ALICE families rise. Join one of our events.

April Women United Trivia: What’s the best prank that you played? “We took all the furniture out of a college friend’s room.”

MEET ALICE

ALICE   is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing, food, child care, health care, technology, and transportation. These workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin, while keeping our local economies running.
