Meet Women United Member Carolyn Kennedy

Carolyn doesn’t have just one woman she admires as she celebrates Women’s History Month – she has several. Her mom, her sisters, her best friends, and of course, her Women United sisters. “I am inspired by strong women everywhere.”

By being part of this sisterhood, she gets to partner with strong women to help ALICE. ALICE families are living paycheck to paycheck, one emergency away from falling into financial ruin. But through volunteering, fundraising, and advocacy, Women United is building a community where everyone can afford to save for an emergency, access health care, and give their children a quality, reliable early education.

When women unite in purpose, we create meaningful change. Women United hosts engaging events throughout the year, offering unique volunteer and networking opportunities with the ultimate goal of helping ALICE families rise. Join one of our events.

March Women United Trivia: What piece of advice would you give to a woman looking to join Women United? “Get involved! Attend the events, engage in the work, and you, too, will find an unexpected sisterhood of incredible women.”

MEET ALICE

ALICE   is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing, food, child care, health care, technology, and transportation. These workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin, while keeping our local economies running.
